Most pink clays sold in India are commodity Brazilian clay repacked without independent safety verification or certification. Tersil COR is the only cosmetic clay in the CSW Natural Clays range that carries all of the following simultaneously:

•        Clinical safety trials at a REBLAS accredited laboratory confirming no dermal irritation and no sensitisation

•        Asbestos-free confirmation by EU laboratory Transmission Electron Microscopy

•        ECOCERT France approved raw material

•        COSMOS Organic approved

•        Full heavy metals analysis: Arsenic less than 15ppm, Cadmium less than 1ppm, Lead less than 20ppm, Mercury less than 1ppm

•        Full microbiological analysis: Bacteria less than 100 CFU/g, Mould and Yeast less than 10 CFU/g, E.coli absent, Clostridium absent, Pseudomonas absent, Staphylococcus absent

•        Validated against Brazilian Pharmacopoeia 7th Edition, USP/NF 43-2020, and European Pharmacopoeia 11th Edition

For formulators building certified organic, natural, or premium skin care brands, this documentation profile is the reason to choose Tersil COR over generic pink clay.

Benefits

•        Clinically confirmed safe for topical use in REBLAS laboratory trials. No primary dermal irritation, no accumulated dermal irritation, no dermal sensitisation. This makes Tersil COR Pink Clay one of the few cosmetic clay ingredients available in India with formal clinical safety evidence rather than supplier-only safety claims.

•        Asbestos-free confirmed by EU laboratory Transmission Electron Microscopy. Clay minerals originate from sedimentary rock deposits that can contain asbestos-related fibrous minerals. Terramater tested all clays in the Tersil line and confirmed absence of asbestos fibers — a safety verification rarely provided by Indian clay suppliers at any price point.

•        Water absorption of 69.00% positions Tersil COR Pink Clay in the medium-low absorption range — gentler than French Green Clay or Bentonite, comparable to the Brazilian clay family, making it suitable for all skin types including sensitive and dry skin in rinse-off face mask formats.

•        Oil absorption of 89.30% of lauryl olivate provides effective sebum control during face mask application without the over-drying associated with high-absorption clays, delivering cleansing that is thorough enough for oily areas while remaining comfortable for sensitive zones.

•        Median particle size of 15 microns produces a powder that disperses uniformly in water-based and emulsion formulations, spreads smoothly on the skin surface without dragging, and rinses cleanly without gritty residue.

•        Functions as a rheology modifier in gels and emulsions, increasing thixotropy at 1 to 4% concentration. At cosmetic use levels in gels, Tersil COR improves texture stability and sensory profile without conventional polymeric thickeners.

•        ECOCERT and COSMOS Organic approved, Vegan, Halal, and Kosher certified — covering the broadest certification scope of any clay in the CSW range, enabling formulators building certified organic, natural, vegan, or religious-compliance positioned products to use this ingredient without additional certification research.

•        Stable across the full pH range of pH 3.00 to 12.00, at temperatures up to 95 degrees Celsius, and on exposure to light and sunlight, making it compatible with every cosmetic formulation type from low-pH Vitamin C serums to alkaline soap bases without stability concerns.

How to Use

For Face Masks: Use at 20 to 60% of the total mask formulation. Activate with water, rose water, or aloe vera gel. Apply to the face avoiding the eye area. Leave for 10 to 20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water using gentle circular motions. Follow with a moisturiser. Suitable for all skin types including sensitive. The 15-micron particle size produces a smooth paste that spreads without dragging on sensitive skin.

For Gels: Add at 3 to 6% to a gel base. Tersil COR increases thixotropy — the gel will be thick at rest and flow smoothly on application. Disperse the clay in a small amount of water before adding to the gel base to prevent clumping. Mix at low speed to avoid introducing air.

For Emulsions (O/W): Add at 3 to 10% to the water phase of an O/W emulsion. Tersil COR improves emulsion stability through its zeta potential (negative 15mV to negative 28mV at cosmetic pH) and increases thixotropy at concentrations above 1%. Pre-disperse in water before adding to the emulsion.

For Soap: Pre-disperse at 5 to 15% of total soap weight in a small amount of distilled water or liquid oil. Add to cold process batter at light trace. Produces a consistent rose to blush pink tone through saponification.

For Hair Care: Add at 2 to 5% to shampoo, conditioner, or scalp treatment formulations. Tersil COR improves sensory profile in hair care, reducing oily sensory feel while maintaining the conditioning properties of the base formulation.

Pairs Well With

Kaolin White Clay blended with Tersil COR Pink Clay creates a customisable pink clay mask. Increasing Kaolin proportion lightens the rose colour and reduces the absorption level. A 70:30 Kaolin to Pink Clay blend produces a pale pink, very gentle mask suitable for daily use on sensitive skin.

French Green Clay blended with Tersil COR Pink Clay at a 30:70 ratio creates a balanced combination-skin mask. The French Green handles the oily T-zone; the Pink Clay handles the drier cheeks and jaw. The resulting clay colour is a muted rose-grey, visually distinctive and commercially appealing.

Aloe Vera Powder dissolved in water as the activation liquid for Tersil COR Pink Clay creates a soothing, skin-calming mask base particularly suitable for sensitive and reactive skin. The aloe contributes light hydrating and soothing properties alongside the clay's absorbent and skin-conditioning functions.

Rose Hip Powder at 5 to 10% of the dry blend adds antioxidant and Vitamin C-adjacent properties to a Tersil COR Pink Clay base, creating a premium anti-ageing and brightening face mask that pairs the clinical safety credentials of the clay with the botanical active credentials of rose hip.

Sandalwood Powder at 5 to 10% of the dry blend creates a premium Ayurvedic face mask with the clinical safety documentation of Tersil COR as the base and sandalwood's traditional skin conditioning and fragrance as the active. This combination is positioned for the premium Indian indie brand segment
