How to Use

For Face Masks: Add Charconite Powder to the dry mask blend at 5 to 20% by weight. Mix with additional Kaolin or Bentonite if higher absorbency is required. Activate with water, rose water, or aloe vera gel to a paste consistency. Apply to the face avoiding the eye area. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water using gentle circular motions.

For Cleansers and Face Washes: Add at 1 to 5% to the water or surfactant phase of a liquid cleanser. Pre-disperse in water or glycerin before adding to the bulk phase to ensure even distribution and prevent powder streaking in the finished product.

For Scrubs: Use at 5 to 15% in an oil-based or water-activated scrub base. The charcoal provides the dark visual identity and surface adsorption; the Kaolin provides the smooth powder texture.

Pre-dispersion: Always pre-disperse Charconite Powder in water or glycerin before adding to formulations. This prevents clumping and ensures uniform colour and texture in the finished product.

Inhalation caution: Fine mineral and charcoal powder. Avoid inhaling during handling. Use in a well-ventilated area.

Pairs Well With

Bentonite Clay adds higher absorbency to a Charconite-based mask formulation for more intensive oil control in deeply oily skin types. Use at a ratio of 50% Charconite to 30% Bentonite to keep the charcoal aesthetic while increasing the overall oil-absorption performance.

Tea Tree Essential Oil at 0.5 to 1% of the total formula pairs with Charconite in cleansing masks and spot treatment formulations for oily and blemish-prone skin. The tea tree contributes antimicrobial function to the cleansing and absorbing base that the clay-charcoal blend delivers.

Activated Charcoal Powder (pure) added to Charconite-based masks at 2 to 5% of the dry blend increases the charcoal concentration and deepens the grey-black colour for brands wanting a more intense charcoal visual and deeper adsorption capacity.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate or SLS-free surfactant in liquid cleanser formulations where Charconite is used at 1 to 5% as the charcoal-clay additive.
